Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Add a second step to your MoovMail login using an authenticator app.
Why enable 2FA?
Even if someone learns your password, they cannot sign in without the time-based code from your phone. MoovMail uses standard TOTP compatible with Google Authenticator, Authy, Microsoft Authenticator, and similar apps.
Enable 2FA
- Open Settings → Security.
- Click Set up two-factor authentication.
- Scan the QR code with your authenticator app.
- Enter the 6-digit code to confirm.
- Store backup recovery codes if shown — use them if you lose your device.
Logging in with 2FA
- Enter email and password at /login.
- When prompted, enter the current code from your authenticator app.
App passwords for mail clients
Desktop clients (Outlook, Thunderbird) and some mobile apps cannot show a 2FA prompt. Create an app password in Settings → Security and use it instead of your main password for IMAP/SMTP.
Disable 2FA
From Settings → Security, choose disable 2FA. You will need your password and a valid TOTP code. Admins can also reset 2FA for locked-out users from the admin panel.
Recovery
- Use recovery email/phone configured in Security settings.
- Use account recovery at /recover-account.
- Contact your organization admin or support@moovmail.com if you are locked out.
